Allow us to introduce this season's basketbachelor, Dallin Hall. Dallin is a 6'4" point guard out of Plain City, Utah. He obviously loves basketball, but when he's not on the court, you can find him bunkering down for a marathon of his favorite movies like Star Wars and Lord of the Rings. But don't let his nerdy tendencies scare you off--Dallin can take care of your offense anytime! He loves cooking up assists for his teammates, but has a distaste for baking turnovers. And long distance doesn't scare him; he's hitting over 35% of his 3-pointers over the last year.

But now that our man has entered the transfer portal, who will be taking a chance on the 4-star recruit from Brigham Young? 247 Sports' Travis Branham--the Chris Harrison of college hoops--has laid out a lineup of suitors who are apparently clamoring to win Hall's heart and get to take him home for the 2024-25 season.

And here are our eligible bachelorettes now! Each of the following programs have shown interest in acquiring the point guard for his junior season, but only one can earn a rose tonight. Will it be:

  • A return to BYU
  • Creighton
  • Clemson
  • Cincinnati
  • Duke
  • Florida
  • Utah
  • Utah State
  • Virginia
  • Washington

In the past, offers from the likes of Duke, Florida, or Virginia would be irresistible, but recent news of programs like Duke bleeding highly skilled players from the transfer portal or down seasons at Florida and Virginia make these options more uncertain than in the past. These candidates are breaking up with people left and right. Red flags, anyone? It's still very hard to pass up an offer to Duke, but playing time could be limited at one of the top basketball programs in the nation.

In the transfer portal, your connection with your original partner branches into an "open relationship" where both parties are free to see other people. While this practice is often unsustainable in the real world, this is reality television and both parties may consider going exclusive once again when this is all over with.

BYU recently got a makeover, swapping out its old coaching staff for a whole new look. While some onlookers may view the change as risky, those close to BYU insist that the new look was just what it needed to win back Dallin's heart.

If Dallin decides that his talents belong in Provo, that would be tremendous news for a BYU team that could strongly benefit from having his steadying presence operating Kevin Young's offense. While occasionally limited in scoring and defense, his court vision and decision-making were vital for Mark Pope's offense to run effectively. BYU would be overjoyed to retain him on the roster.

But is a return to his ex likely at this point? In the modern age of transfer portal matchmaking, it can be easy to point fingers and make accusations that a partner was unfaithful. Yet, Hall was in attendance at Kevin Young's introductory press conference and seemed in good spirits while talking to his ex's good friends, Ryan Smith and Danny Ainge--notoriously excellent wingmen who were instrumental in Kevin Young's hiring. While far from a guarantee, hopes are high for Dallin Hall's return.

Dallin Hall's decision will be closely anticipated by onlookers across the nation. Be sure to tune into this season's edition of The Basketbachelor. "The ball is in your court."
