The "Come home, Rob Wright III" billboard campaign didn't go up fast enough, as it appears the former five-star recruit and BYU basketball point guard has two feet in Lexington, Kentucky. Literally.
Taking an official visit to Mark Pope's blue-blood program in Kentucky on Monday, Wright has been flirting with the Wildcats since entering the transfer portal. He made several promises to return to BYU basketball for his junior season, barring NBA interest, but quickly took to the transfer portal as BYU refused to match his asking price that would have made him one of the most expensive players in college basketball.
Since exploring his options, his price has reportedly deflated, but all indications suggest that his 50/50 split decision between Kevin Young and Mark Pope leans more to the latter and less to the Latter-day.
Per the experts at On3, Rob Wright III's crystal ball reads 100% Kentucky. If all things go according to plan on his trip to Lexington, Wright could announce his commitment to the Wildcats as early as tomorrow, Tuesday.

I’m told from a source the goal is for him to commit tomorrow if all things go accordingly.
Many will be quick to point to a similar experience with Richie Saunders, a player who many were so certain would follow Pope to Kentucky, that the recruiting sites not only gave him the 100% not to Lexington, and it seemed a foregone conclusion that his official visit to Kentucky would be the nail in the coffin for the scrambling BYU basketball program.
We learned that no matter how confident outside parties can be about a player's intentions, there's no knowing until the player themself delcares their commitment. In Wright's case, it all comes down to BYU or Kentucky. Familiarity or a fresh start. Kevin Young or Mark Pope.
Wright is the number-one point guard in the current transfer class, according to 247 Sports, and the fourth-rated transfer overall.
