It's fourth down with a yard to go. For most teams in football's documented history, a head coach might hesitate to take the risk, put their drive on the line, and attempt a do-or-die attempt at keeping their offense on the field. Break the barrier, and your team can advance. Get jammed up front, and your team must hand possession to the opponent. Every bruise, every grass stain, every bead of sweat will have been in vain, but what other choice do they have now?
But the Philadelphia Eagles, behind the Olympic thighs of quarterback Jalen Hurts, have discovered a cure for fourth-and-one, and they've lovingly dubbed it the Brotherly Shove, the QB Dive, or most commonly: the Tush Push.
The premise is simple. Line up, bunch up, and use brute strength to force the quarterback through the defense. It's one of the most unstoppable plays in sport. A play so invincible, unflappable, and viciously inevitable that opposing viewpoints are begging those in power to enact legislation forbidding its future use.
But when the Minnesota Vikings lined up on the other side of the Tush Push, it was a BYU alum who may have cracked the code to halting the most dreaded snap on turf.
Lying down in front of the awaiting center, Tyler Batty from Payson, Utah, plugged the Eagles' offense, and Philadelphia was forced to a grinding halt and may have to reconsider using a play that, by all accounts, has worked nine times out of ten.
Vikings DC Brian Flores may have FINALLY figured out how to stop the tush push.

He gets Tyler Batty to lie down, acting as a human shield to stop it, and ITS WORKED ðŸ˜

You can seem him there, on all fours. Number 96 striking fear in the hearts of all who dare oppose him. He's a force of nature.
We don't know if it was divine revelation, a Jimmy Neutron-level brain blast, or pure desperation, but this former Coug damned the river, at least for now. Batty is in his rookie season with Minnesota, and it seems like he's found a notch in the roster for himself. Cougar Nation is cheering for him.
