Week 12 College Football Playoff top 25 ranking prediction: Cardiac Cougars stay alive

Last week's top 25 has been battered, bruised, and should be unrecognizable in this week's rankings.

What do you do with a 2-loss Georgia,
What do you do with a 2-loss Georgia,
What do you do with a 2-loss Georgia,
In the playoff rankings?

Wow, what a weekend of college football week 11 turned out to be. Can we do a quick head count to make sure everyone is okay? Let's start with the remaining undefeated teams. Oregon? Indiana? BYU? Army? Is everyone alive and accounted for? Oregon and Indiana look fine, but... BYU and Army? How can I say this delicately... you nearly gave us a heart attack with a 1-point win over Utah and a close shave with North Texas.

Ok, now for the SEC. Where is Geor--GASP. Oh my goodness, they're dead. Georgia is dead and Jaxson Dart proudly killed them. Alabama erased LSU's playoff hopes, and now everyone but Texas and Tennessee have 2 losses. Is Georgia really about to tumble below Alabama? Are the Rebels and the Crimson tide going to jump unbeaten BYU and Indiana--even with two losses?

Miami lost, and that's fantastic news after hearing the Hurricanes passed the committee's "eye test" that kept them in the top 4. Surely, they'll fall below the remaining non-Army unbeaten after dropping their game against the team that barely scraped past 1-9 Florida State... right?

But not all is right in the minds of the playoff selection committee, and projecting BYU and Indiana to make a leap is far from a certainty when last week's precedent clearly made the statement that the rankings will benefit who feels like the best teams, rather than the teams who have "earned" a top-5 position.

As a reminder, while I'm going to predict this week's CFP rankings, please keep in mind that I'm predicting how I think these rankings will play out. This is not my personal top 25 (you'll likely notice that BYU isn't in the top 5), but rather a projection of what the official rankings may look like while taking into account factors like poll inertia, last week's results, and things of that nature.
