19. Tyler Haws scores 42 against VTech (2012)

Tyler Haws had a lot of great nights for the Cougars. He is the Y’s all time leading scorer, a model of consistency and worth ethic.

But this game was before BYU basketball fans knew exactly what the older son of Marty would be. He was fresh off his mission, and to that point, RMs had an awfully hard time stepping back into D1 competition so soon returned from their 2 year sabbatical.

So early in the season, Haws was showing promise, seeming to pick up where left off from his freshman year as a starter on a Jimmer-led NCAA team. Then Virginia Tech, a solid team with a solid basketball history, rolls into then-Energy Solutions Arena to face off with Tyler and the Cougars.

And he. Got. Buckets.

This was Haws putting teams on notice: that for the next three years, he would be at the top of their scouting report. That night in and night out, he would out-work you if you slacked off for a moment. Foul him at your peril.

Watch him come off two screens, give a quick dribble, a jump, and then fire the midrange jumper.

Money.
