With every passing day, we crawl that much closer to the most highly anticipated season of BYU basketball. Ever. With legitimate top-tier talent populating every inch of the depth chart, Kevin Young has assembled a squad that -- at least on paper -- is poised to compete with the very best the college basketball world has to offer.
Yes, I'm excited.
So, with the approaching season now only a few months away, the final schedule is taking shape. The most recent news is that of a third contest in the Utah Jazz's Delta Center, set to complete the holy trinity of SLC-set basketball with already-announced matchups against the North Carolina Tar Heels (in a preseason exhibition format) and the Wisconsin Badgers.
The third and final neutral site game will be against Cal Baptist on December 3rd.
BYU will play Cal Baptist in the Delta Center December 3 -- that is the third Delta Center game BYU was working on.

3 games in the Delta Center: UNC (exhibition), Wisconsin, Cal Baptist
The Lancers finished third in the WAC last season with a 17-15 record, nearly stealing a season-defining win on the road against 23rd-ranked San Diego State. This will be a buy game for the Cougars, and one they'll be expected to dominate.
Cal Baptist's name will add some buffer to an already star-studded non-conference gauntlet for Kevin Young's squad, as they're set to face Villanova on opening night before facing the ever-dangerous UConn Huskies. With Wisconsin and UNC also slotted to face AJ Dybantsa, Richie Saunders, Rob Wright III, and the loaded Cougars roster, this team will be expected to perform as a battle-tested and well-prepared unit for competition in the Big 12 Conference and a run through March Madness.
Maybe Cal Baptist's is a name that strikes less anxiety into your soul, but every contest is one step closer to title contention.
