BYU football wants Jeovanni Henley, and they've been struggling against the recruiting prowess and prestige of the nation's biggest brands (and Cal, who keeps finding themselves alongside BYU in these final schools lists) to win his commitment.
When the likes of Texas and Penn State are in the mix for a prospect, it's hard to love BYU football's chances historically, but today is a different day in the landscape of BYU recruiting. Kalani Sitake has built a foundation to believe in, and that's exactly why you see the stretch-Y standing alongside the prestigious institutions in college football.
And it sounds like BYU football is very close from receiving news from Henley, as he's set to announce his commitment on Saturday, June 6, at 11:30 PM PT, live from his Instagram account (@jeo054).

Henley is a three-star recruit and the 103rd-ranked athlete in the 2027 class, per 247 Sports Composite Rankings.
Here's what I wrote on Henley when he first announced his interest in BYU football, listing them in his final five programs alongside Texas, Penn State, Washington, and Cal.
"Henley, a 6'0" athlete from Palo Alto, California, is the 102nd-rated athlete in 247 Sports composite rankings, and played running back, safety, and cornerback at Junipero Serena High School."
"As a junior, he recorded 65 tackles, 5 sacks, 10 tackles for loss, 2 interceptions (including one he returned for six, the other way), 8 touchdowns, and 425 offensive yards. He can slot into just about any spot on the field for a program like BYU, and versatility is an increasingly valuable asset in the modern age."
Henley is one of three athletes on BYU football's radar in recent weeks, with the others each rated at 4-stars on 247. The first was Bode Sparrow, a stud out of Davis High School in Kaysville, Utah, and the top-rated recruit in the state of Utah. The second was Elyjah Staples, whose four-star designation hasn't drawn an equal level of interest from high-end programs like Henley has.
