Every day, we draw nearer to the opening tip-off of the NCAA Tournament on Thursday. Likewise, the inception date of my mental instability will coincide with said opener.
The six-seed BYU Cougars stand opposite a deep and troublesome VCU squad. The A-10 champions will match up against the boys in blue for the second straight season, this time donning black and gold as opposed to Duquesne's blue-red combo.
Thanks to last season's disappointment to the 11-seed Dukes, the prospect of facing the 11-seed Rams will keep me up at night, and keep my therapist struggling for answers.
But for some reason, we can't help but feel that this season's team is different from the previous handful of disappointing exits. Sure, BYU has lost to an 11-seed in its last three tournament appearances, but let's not be superstitious.
It would be disingenuous to suggest that I'm not at least a little stitious, however.

BYU basketball and first-year head coach Kevin Young face a major test of authenticity. Win in the first round, and the basketball world will appraise the Cougars' new regime as genuine basketball gold. Lose, however, and a hailstorm of doubts, critique, and digital rage will be fire-hosed in the direction of Brigham Young University.
Plenty is on the line for this battle. But win this game, and the Cougars may be on a one-way trip to basketball Monza -- a motorway to the greatest heights of hooping prestige in the Final Four.
With that being said, TruTV's spike in Google search activity would suggest that most of you aren't positive how to watch the Madness this season, and the very fact that you're reading these words right now must mean that you'd like me to shut up already and tell you what channel the BYU game will be on.
Struggle no longer at your desktop, dear warrior, I'll rest your weary mind and finally deliver the information you've almost certainly skimmed to by now.
