There are few Brigham Young University alumni who BYU fans hold in higher regard than Kansas City Chiefs head coach, Andy Reid. Sure, we're all impressed by the Hall of Fame-worthy coaching career in the NFL. We all tip the cap to his multiple Super Bowl victories. We bow our heads in reverence to the majestic mustache that rests on his upper lip, leaving any other comparable facial hair features in shame -- including my own.
But with a recently shared quote from the BYU football social media pages, it's clear that the feeling between coach and his alma mater are mutual.
"I think [BYU is] the greatest place on Earth," said Reid. "Not only do you get a great education on the fooball field, but you get a great education off the field -- academically and spiritually. It changed my life. I know it's changed a lot of others' lives."
It's clear these words are more than just hollow lip service from Reid, as he's often spotted attending BYU basketball games, and is a reliable, consistent appearance at the Kansas City-based Big 12 Conference basketball tournament every year. He's not hard to find -- look for the royal blue polo and the aura radiating around the living legend.
"When you graduate from BYU, you come in automatically with a resume, whether you deserved it or not, you come in with something that says 'I'm an honest, hardworking human being that people can trust. It helps you get in the door and maintain jobs and [...] your family."

While it's still unlikely that the legendary head coach would ever take control back in Provo -- Kalani Sitake seems to be doing an acceptable job in that role, with two-straight seasons of 11+ wins in the Big 12 -- Reid is outspoken about his admiration for the football program that began his career, and is a proudly practicing member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
Andy Reid's time in Provo changed his life, and the university continues to change the lives of those who pass through.
