Bode Sparrow is the highest-rated recruit in the state of Utah, and a top priority for BYU football. He took his official visit to Provo over the weekend, during perhaps the busiest weekend on Kalani Sitake's calendar, and will weigh his potential commitment to BYU against offers from Oregon, Oklahoma, and Utah.
A four-star athlete out of Davis High School in Kaysville, Utah, Sparrow is the 7th-best athlete prospect in the class of 2027, per 247 Sports Composite rankings.

As the athlete tag would entail, Bode Sparrow has been proficient at playing on both sides of the field during his high school career, torching secondaries as a wide receiver on one end and fortifying secondaries as one of the most dynamic safeties in the nation at the other.
I wrote the following on Davis High School's four-star athlete, Bode Sparrow, when he first announced his final four programs.
"Sparrow is a 6'2" athlete with elite physical and athletic tools, and that was on full display on both sides of the ball with the Davis Darts. As a wide receiver, he tallied over 3,000 receiving yards, but he's projected to have a higher ceiling as a safety, where he snagged 16 picks in 36 appearances to this point."
"Not just a ball hawk (though he is among the best in high school football at baiting quarterbacks into making bad decisions through the air), Sparrow is tough and hits with intention when given a chance at the ball carrier."
"Similar to the likes of former Colorado star Travis Hunter, Sparrow could thrive as either a receiver or a cornerback, but would be better suited sticking to the defensive end, where his skill set shines most. For a BYU defense that prides itself on forcing turnovers and birthing chaos for opposing quarterbacks, Sparrow would be a natural fit under Kelly Poppinga's methodology."
Sparrow remains at the top of BYU's priorities list, and would be an incredible addition to a program that has never been such a national force in the modern era. They hope to keep their momentum riding high with Sparrow's commitment.
