BYU football to debut new uniforms this week against Kansas State
In the BYU Cougars' 100th season of football, fans have plenty of reason to reminisce over the history of their storied football team. Legendary games created unforgettable seasons, and an offensive philosophy spawned by LaVell Edwards and the air raid offense has forever left an impact on the modern game.
With the Cougars' first shot at a Big 12 foe this weekend, BYU has selected this game to pay homage to teams of the past with a throwback uniform designed to wow spectators.
The 13th-ranked Kansas State Wildcats are coming into town for a late night matchup with the Cougars. A pseudo grudge-match between former Cotton Bowl foes, I can't think of a more appropriate occasion to honor the fantastic 1996 BYU football team.
BYU will enter this game with a perfect 3-0 record, but so do the Wildcats. K-State has Big 12 Championship aspirations, and therefore College Football Playoff aspirations. The Cougars will be their first taste of Big 12 action, and the Wildcats will look to earn a statement victory under the floodlights of LaVell Edwards Stadium.
If you want to see these icy new uniforms on full display, you'll need to make time for BYU's clash with Kansas State this Saturday. Is a football game decided by how good a team looks on the field? No, unfortunately the better football team is often named the winner as the final whistle sounds. Will BYU's uniforms look incredible regardless? You bet.
