BYU football enjoyed an absurdly strong 2026 recruiting class, and that's largely thanks to a new direction and identity for Kalani Sitake's program, now with three seasons of Big 12 Conference membership in the rear-view mirror. Once expected to flounder in the bottom half of the league's standings, BYU transformed from a 5-7 program in its first season of power football to combining for 23 wins in its second and third seasons.
This year, it's not uncommon to see analysts project the Cougars as the team to beat in the race for the conference title and an auto-bid to the College Football Playoff.
And thanks to the 21st-best recruiting ranking in the nation (according to 247 Sports composite rankings), the Cougars are reloading with a fantastic new crop of talent on the way. So as we approach the final stretch leading into the 2026 campaign, let's get familiar with some of the names you may see lighting up the field at LaVell Edwards Stadium this fall.
3 key BYU football recruits ready to break out in 2026
Jaron Pula - Wide Receiver - 4-star
Jaron and his twin brother Kennan are both joining BYU football this season after displaying obvious talent at the high school level at Lone Peak in Alpine. Jaron, the offensive counterpart of the tandem, was the 30th-ranked wide receiver in the nation during his high school career, and has one of the finest-tuned motors for a player of his size, plus elite agility to boot.
BYU's receiver room is depleted this season with Chase Roberts, Parker Kingston, and Cody Hagen all out of the picture -- I wouldn't be surprised to see Pula rack up his snap count in his first season.
Kennan Pula - Safety - 4-star
Kennan is a defensive standout who has the hands of a wideout, like his brother, and that was on full display during what many are calling the most impressive interception they have ever seen during the 2025 Utah state playoffs.

The twins originally committed to Utah, but we don't hold that against them as they eventually saw the light and determined that Kalani Sitake's program was a better collegiate home.
Legend Glasker - Wide Receiver - 3-star
We're keeping it in the family. Yes, Legend is the relative of BYU's star linebacker, Isaiah, but is built entirely differently as a shifty, speedster receiver who can get behind the secondary and make big plays downfield. For the same reasons as Pula, Glasker could thrive within a shallow receiver room as a freshman.
