BYU football is keeping a good thing going with the Satuala family, as 3-star athlete Lakepa Satuala has announced his commitment to the program, a slightly more offense-minded reflection of his older brother, who has tormented receivers downfield in the Cougar secondary. Though he tallied over 300 receiving yards in a rush-heavy Bountiful offense, 247 reports that he'll start in the safety room beside his star brother, Faletau.

Lakepa Satuala is a standout talent out of Bountiful High School in Northern Utah. A three-star rated talent according to 247 Sports, he's the 17th-best prospect in the Beehive State's 2027 Class and the 90th-rated athlete, according to 247 Sports' Composite Rankings.

Beyond BYU, Satuala received interest from Utah State and San Diego State, two new entrants into the reformed Pac-12 Conference.

The fifth BYU commit in the state's top-27, Satuala's commitment has Kalani Sitake's program climbing to just the 12th position in the Big 12 ladder, a concerning drop from last season's second-place finish, and largely damaged by securing just two four-star commitments.

He shared the following message with his commitment on an Instagram post:

"First and foremost, I'd like to thank my mom, dad, and siblings for their endless love and support throughout this journey. I'd also like to thank my mentors, coaches, friends, teammates and this incredible community for believing in me every step of the way.

Most importantly, I'd like to thank Jesus Christ. Without Him, none of this would be possible. I am truly grateful for every opportunity and every blessing.

With that being said, I am incredibly blessed and excited to announce that I have committed to BYU!"

Faletau Satuala is currently recovering from a foot fracture that could sideline him for the beginning of the season if he faces any setbacks in his recovery. But after witnessing his incredible 2025 season, BYU football will happily take any member of the Satuala family they can get their hands on.
