Dallin Hall is the first transfer candidate from BYU basketball to announce his relocation, which will unfortunately be in joining an ACC squad with very little chance of crossing paths with the Cougars in his final collegiate season.
The Virginia Cavaliers welcomed the senior point guard into their program on Wednesday, as Hall announced via his Instagram.

Despite the departures of Egor Demin (now NBA-bound) and Elijah Crawford (still exploring the transfer portal), Hall selected a new path for himself. Whether this was a mutual decision or Hall's alone is still unknown, but BYU's quick reflexes on putting themselves in the driver's seat to secure Baylor transfer Rob Wright III are an indication that Kevin Young's team is looking to upgrade from a season that saw the Cougs finish 13th in the AP Poll.
Hall joins a Virginia team that is now a shell of its former glory, as the Cavaliers are no longer championship contenders, but more a middle-of-the-pack squad in the Atlantic Coast Conference.
Next season may produce a better result, but a 180 flip is far more likely for the worse than for the better, as is the case with any program.
While Hall's decision to leave BYU likely hinged on playing time and role with the roster, Hall's migration to the Eastern USA will offer him a favorable position in a storied league.
Until more concrete news is revealed regarding BYU's backcourt, Hall's departure leaves the Cougars' guard line a bit barren. Kevin Young and his staff are working tirelessly to improve on an already excellent first season in Provo.
