What a year of basketball for BYU. The Cougars went 14-6 in Big 12 play and made it to the Sweet 16. The Cougars proved a lot of people wrong and made a bold statement. Richie Saunders led the way, supported by a fantastic cast of players like Keba Keita and Egor Demin. Next year, AJ Dybansta will be here and that will be exciting. Of course, Egor Demin has left, which means that BYU will have to figure out how to play without him.
BYU has a high ceiling in 2025. AJ Dybnasta and Xavion Staton will be coming into Provo. There are also rumors of Baylor guard Rob Wright III transferring to BYU. The Cougars have a good-looking lineup heading into the season, and Head Coach Kevin Young has already proved that he can make a team play well together. BYU has high expectations for 2025 and all the tools to make a deep NCAA Tournament run.
Last season, the Cougars smashed expectations and finished third in the Big 12. BYU made it to the Sweet 16 before they were knocked out by Alabama. The Cougars had a nine-game winning streak and beat several Top 25 teams. BYU can do it again this year and even make it farther.

BYU has talent and a good coaching staff. I expect BYU to finish in the top three in the Big 12 Standings next season and make it past the Sweet 16. BYU should be a better team now and could even win the Big 12 Tournament. BYU has a chance at hardware and it's only a matter of time before the Cougars get real momentum and more big recruits.
I expect BYU to win 15-20 conference games next season and challenge the likes of Texas Tech and Arizona. BYU has some good players committed and there are rumors of talented players coming in from the transfer portal. BYU has built a strong brand in the Big 12 and more eyes are on them than ever. The Cougars understand the pressure and if they can stay focused, they can do great things.
BYU is getting better. AJ Dybnasta and Richie Saunders are going to be the Cougars' next dynamic duo, and Keba Keita is going to be a fun player to watch in the winter. Richie and AJ's sharpshooting mixed with Keba's strength down low is a hard combination to stop. Keba's defense is also a strong factor when analyzing this BYU team. The future is bright for the Cougars, and it's likely to go up from here.
