One might conclude upon first inspection that they had fallen helplessly into an endless sea of royal blue. One would be both correct and incorrect in arriving at such a conclusion, as from East to West and from North to South, one hundred percent of experts on 5-star QB Ryder Lyons' recruiting profile are hoisting an oval flag on a bed of blue.
But this isn't a disaster; it's the building anxiety brewing beneath the surface of Lyons' decision. With the eyes of the nation upon his June 24th decision date, chatter is buzzing from Brigham's camp.
In less eloquent terms, BYU football's top recruiting target, Ryder Lyons out of Folsom, California, is expected to select the Cougars from an array that includes Oregon, USC, Alabama, Georgia, Notre Dame, Ohio State, and his pick of nearly any program in the nation.

But please hold onto your party poppers until the decision is final, as these projections are exactly that: projections.
No matter how certain these experts may be, no matter how close to the situation they appear, and no matter how tangible the appearance of celebration appears, anything can happen between today and decision day -- down to the very hour.
Wow, who let Debbie Downer into the room, huh?
This level of recruiting excitement is the highest surrounding the BYU athletics program since the courtship of AJ Dybantsa, the number one basketball recruit whose whirlwind of a recruiting cycle eventually landed him in Provo. Ryder Lyons would be the highest touted quarterback prospect to enter the program in modern memory, so the excitement surrounding his decision is rightfully peaking.
But please use discretion as we remain uncertain of his decision until it comes from his mouth alone. That said, his crystal ball swing is a strong indicator that good news is likely on the horizon after being all-in on USC less than a month ago.
