The hunt for the commitment of three-star athlete Peyton Higginson out of Salem Hills High School has been narrowed down to just three potential suitors: BYU, Michigan, and Utah State. It's a real "who's who" of college football coaches in the Beehive State, with Kalani Sitake, Kyle Whittingham, and Bronco Mendenhall all locking horns for the same local prospect. Only Whittingham is now the face of one of college football's blue bloods, the Michigan Wolverines.

Whittingham likewise snatched defensive coordinator Jay Hill from the Cougars over the offseason, but his in-house replacement, Kelly Poppinga, has managed to hold the defensive side together in the fallout, with every key player (Satuala, Glasker, Johnson, Alexander III, etc) staying put in Provo.

Higginson is an exceptional athlete out of Salem, Utah, standing at 6'3", 181 pounds, and is the 15th-ranked prospect in the state of Utah. The Cougars will hope to ride their fantastic recruiting momentum -- the team just gained two four-star talents in wide receiver Blake Wong and edge rusher Uhila Wolfgramm -- by adding Higginson to their 2027 class.

Now down to three contenders, he is set to declare his commitment on July 6th at noon, Mountain Time.

Higginson is the top undeclared talent in Utah's 2027 class, per 247 Sports, and brings versatility that the Cougars could utilize on both on offensive and defensive side of the ball, though it's more likely BYU designates him to specialize on just one.

He was also recruited by programs like Utah, Boise State, Cal, Purdue, Oregon State, Washington State, Dartmouth, and Yale.
